This year's conference theme is, "Pathways to Women’s and Youth empowerment: building inclusive institutions and shifting norms for sustainable development."

A Model African Union conference is a simulation of the African Union and its institutions. During the conference, you have the opportunity to represent one of the 54 member states of the African Union, while engaging into interesting debates on various social, political and economic aspects of policymaking in Africa. This year’s conference will host up to a maximum of 54 Delegates, who will debate in three different committees. The topics, which will be debated in the committees are actually issues that are also discussed in the real African Union. Thus, you will engage in a process of finding innovative solutions to real problems. The resolutions adopted during the conference will be highlighted in a report, which will be submitted to the African Union. Through participating in the Model African Union Bayreuth Conference you will be able to improve your public speaking and negotiation skills, learn more about current affairs in Africa and additionally have the opportunity to experience African culture while engaging with people of diverse backgrounds from all around the world and exploring the beautiful city of Bayreuth.
